  2. 2) Is this real or just Sci-fi? This is real.
    3) Assuming these CAN be produced, what technical difficulties will need to be overcome (i.e miniaturization, motors, power supply, control systems?)
4)How long until these are flying and actually in use? Not until 2030 or so.
    5) Who will benefit from this technology? Everyone may benefit from this, mostly the army.
    6) How could you protect yourself from having one of these were watching you? I don’t think you could.
    7) Discuss Privacy issues and ethics of development? Can it be kept in military or law enforcement hands? If not, should it be developed at all knowing how it could be misused? I think it would deffinently be misused if it were in the hands of untrustworthy people.
    8) What legislative controls, if any should be employed? If you can afford one, should you be able to purchase? I don’t think people should be able to purchase this because it could cause some serious damage.

  3. 2) This is real
    3) They will have to make the motors much smaller, and figure out a way to control them.
    4) About twenty years
    5) Everyone
    6) Don’t do anything wrong
    7) No one would have privacy anymore. It should be kept to military and law enforcement. Yes it should still be produced because it could save a lot of lives.
    8) They should only be available to the military or law enforcement even if you have enough money to by one.

  4. 2) It’s Real
    3) Because they are so small, they would need to be able to resiste things like being steped on, And a little square with cameras on them would not blend in well so camo would be needed.
4)I would think about 15 years
    5) The military
    6) You could use it to see if someone is breaking into your house, or the military could use bthem to see if the enemy has anything that could pose a threat to the people.
    7) They should be made to keep people safe, but they would be abused and used to invade privcay.
8)I think thnk anyone with one of these should need a special permit, and have laws like they can’t be used to invade pricacy or something.

    - ADVANCED MATERIALS/Data Acquisition / DATA
2)Is this real or just Sci-fi?
    - Could be Sci-fi, but soon it might be real and be in use
    3) Assuming these CAN be produced, what technical difficulties will need to be overcome (i.e miniaturization, motors, power supply, control systems?)
    - The transmitter in the M.A.V. and the cam and recorder quality and size
4)How long until these are flying and actually in use?
    - Maybe years, or maybe months
5)Who will benefit from this technology?
-National security, and other government organizations
    6) How could you protect yourself from having one of these were watching you?
    - You probably couldn’t, unless you suspect every fly and bird of being a spy
7)Discuss Privacy issues and ethics of development? Can it be kept in military or law enforcement hands? If not, should it be developed at all knowing how it could be misused?
    - I could be misused but with its sized and knowledge of it being likely stolen, the manufacturers will likely develop it with a way to stop it from happening.
    8) What legislative controls, if any should be employed? If you can afford one, should you be able to purchase?
-I think no-one but the military should have use to these since they are too easy to abuse.

  6. the tags i would use would be ni week,m.a.v, sensors.
Yes this is real but they arent in use yet
They will need to work on long term batteries or compact power sources they also will need to fin a way to space everything correctly in the m.a.v
they will be up and running in a few years
many soldiers will live and we will be able to prevent future terrorist threats so a lot of people will benefit.
you could make sure that you have a well sealed house and and where you go watch for any thing that has been following you.
Yes they should be kept in military hands because numerous
bad things would happen if the technology went into the wrong hands.
i also think that no one outside the military should have any control over these because the privacy will soon be gone

    4.Not untill 2030.
5.Like everybody will benefit from this, expecially the Millitary and Army.
6.You really cant the people who own these can pick who the want to spy on.
7.I could for sure be missused if like people who had that could not handle the responsibility of having it.

Power supply, and Animals thinking that its food.
4)How long until these are flying and actually in use?
    2 to 5 years
    5) Who will benefit from this technology?
    Military

Always look up and around you.
    7) Discuss Privacy issues and ethics of development? Can it be kept in military or law enforcement hands? If not, should it be developed at all knowing how it could be misused?
It should not be mass produced till we get regulations on them because they can and will get misused.
    8) What legislative controls, if any should be employed? If you can afford one, should you be able to purchase? I think the millitary should keep it for about 10 years till the public can see it because by then we would know what laws to put on them.

  11. 1. I believe that this science fiction because we have not progressed that far in technology.
    2. Many problems will arise. These problems include disguising them as animals or objects, deployment, retrieval, adapting them for certain climates and temperatures, range for controller, type of job required for the machine, and most of all, the skills required to operate them.
    3. The time it takes to develop these machines depends on the amount of time it takes to create a design, a prototype, and facts to back up the prototype. My assumption is at least 20 years.
    4. The ones who benefit from these will be the military, the government, government agencies, police departments, and security companies.
    5. It would be impossible to protect yourself from these.
    6. Privacy issues will always be a problem with these micro machines. Some people will find them entering their house a breach of privacy. I believe that these cannot be kept in military and law enforcement and that they should not develop these MAV’s if they have the ability to be misused.
    7. Legislative controls should be stat that MAV’s should be accounted for at all times. You should not be able to purchase one if you have a criminal record or are charged with any crime, past or present.

  12. 1) Is this real or just Sci-fi? \
I think its Sci-fi because that’s a lot of tecnolgy that we don’t have yet and that’s lot of stuff for a tiny machine.
    2) Assuming these CAN be produced, what technical difficulties will need to be overcome (i.e miniaturization, motors, power supply, control systems?)
The size is a problem because they need to fit a power source, a motor, and a camrea in the machine. The power source needs to last a long time and needs to be small and light weight. The control system need to be small and light weight too so it can fly.
3)How long until these are flying and actually in use?
I think when we make a power source that last for days and its tiny, and when we have a controling system that is tiny and light weight.
    4) Who will benefit from this technology?
    The military and spys.
    5) How could you protect yourself from having one of these were watching you?
Not to do anything wrong and get a device that makes sure that they can’t
    6) Discuss Privacy issues and ethics of development? Can it be kept in military or law enforcement hands? If not, should it be developed at all knowing how it could be misused?
The privacy issues are using it for the wrong reasons like to spy on a girl. I think the military should keep it a secrete and use it to spy on the enemys.
    7) What legislative controls, if any should be employed? If you can afford one, should you be able to purchase?
Keep it a secrete and have only the military know about it. No I don’t think you should be able to purchase one because people could use it to stalk people or to plan a murder.

  13. 1) After watching the video - look at the tags below the video. Read the tags and pick out the top three you'd use for this topic. Record on your Word document.
    - Motion control, 3D printing, and advanced materials.

    2) Is this real or just Sci-fi?
    - Real.
    3) Assuming these CAN be produced, what technical difficulties will need to be
overcome (i.e miniaturization, motors, power supply, control systems?)
    - It could be hard to even invent something so difficult, and also being able to get it to work would be one of the main problems with this, you could design it and built it but being able to actually get it to work could be a problem.
4)How long until these are flying and actually in use?
    - Depending on how long it takes for them to create them.
    5) Who will benefit from this technology?
    - You could easily make money off some invention like this, being smart and being able to create something like this could make you millions of dollars and help people.
    6) How could you protect yourself from having one of these were watching you?
    - Don’t do anything that you could be watched, or stay inside your house.
    7) Discuss Privacy issues and ethics of development? Can it be kept in military or law enforcement hands? If not, should it be developed at all knowing how it could be misused?
    - A lot of people could be violated by this because they are flying around everywhere. I think it should be kept in military and law enforcement hands.
    8) What legislative controls, if any should be employed? If you can afford one, should you be able to purchase?
    - -I think no one but the military should have use to these since they are too easy to abuse.

    3) Assuming these CAN be produced, what technical difficulties will need to be overcome (i.e miniaturization, motors, power supply, control systems?) They make it smaller I wouldn’t know they would keep it charged. They would need how to charged it without anyone knowing.
4)How long until these are flying and actually in use? I think this will take a very long time.
    5) Who will benefit from this technology? People in the military or law enforement will benefit from this technology.
    6) How could you protect yourself from having one of these were watching you? Not do anything bad that could cause you to be watched.
    7) Discuss Privacy issues and ethics of development? Can it be kept in military or law enforcement hands? If not, should it be developed at all knowing how it could be misused? Privacy issues would be misused. I don’t think the law enforcement should use it but it would help them. I think this should be developed.
    8) What legislative controls, if any should be employed? If you can afford one, should you be able to purchase? If you can afford it doesn’t mean you should be able to use it. I think the military and law enforcement should be the only ones to use it.

  15. 1) Three tags I would use are Automation, Motion Control, and Advanced Materials.
    2) This device is real.
    3) They need to be able to have a battery or some type of motor for it to be able to perform for long time periods if needed.
    4) A few years
    5) The police, the Military, and other federal agencies to catch bad guys.
    6) Beware of your surroundings and don’t do anything bad.
    7) It could violate people’s privacy but if it helps law enforcements catch bad guys than I think it’s worth it. It could easily be kept in the hands of the law enforcements if nobody started selling them. They could be used for stalkers to watch their prey.
    8) They should only be used for law enforcement and federal agencies. No, they should not be able to purchase because they could be used for bad reasons.

    This is Sci-fi.
    3) Assuming these CAN be produced, what technical difficulties will need to be overcome (i.e miniaturization, motors, power supply, control systems?)
It might be hard to build such a complex engine and then out it into a small object. Plus keeping it quiet, like no wing flapping noises or beeping boises and such. Plus trying to set up ways to be sure you are navigating it in the right direction.
4)How long until these are flying and actually in use?
Could vary depending on how many they need or how complex they are needed to be.
    5) Who will benefit from this technology?
Mostly the military or people involved in warfair.
    6) How could you protect yourself from having one of these were watching you?
Don’t do anything that could get you in trouble enough to need to be watched. Watch were you are going or stay indoors.
    7) Discuss Privacy issues and ethics of development? Can it be kept in military or law enforcement hands? If not, should it be developed at all knowing how it could be misused?
It would probably be easy to get ahold of one if it was following you so maybe find a way to deactivate it permanetly from the control area. Other than that it isnt that bad of an idea.
    8) What legislative controls, if any should be employed? If you can afford one, should you be able to purchase?
I think they should only be available to those in need of them like the law enforcement or maybe stores to be able to monitor people more carefully. But I don’t think its really a big personal need.

    2) Real
    3) Assuming these CAN be produced, what technical difficulties will need to be overcome (i.e miniaturization, motors, power supply, control systems?)
    3) One of the biggest things would be power supply. Im sure they don’t know for sure how long something like this could last and if it only last a couple minutes why bother putting this thing to work. In my opinion you would have to do a lott of tests and research to make the power run as long as possible. Control systems might be a problem too. Inorder for this to be a sneaky device, the controller has to know what he or she is doing, or is there even a control system? Just another thing for them to try to overcome.
4)How long until these are flying and actually in use?
    4) 2 to 5 years

    7) Discuss Privacy issues and ethics of development? Can it be kept in military or law enforcement hands? If not, should it be developed at all knowing how it could be misused? These would be great if they were kept in the right hands, but they could be misused to invade other’s privacy if put in the wrong hands.
    8) What legislative controls, if any should be employed? If you can afford one, should you be able to purchase? Only law enforcement or people in charge of our country should be able to purchase them. Even if you can afford them, there should be laws to say who can and can’t purchase these bugs. They could be easily misused.
