  1. i feel that it is bad that even before a person is born tons of there information is already on the internet. googling my moms name i found lots of her information but most was not pertinent. I also found some of my dads old info

  2. When someone searches my name I think they won’t be able to find information, I am very worried about people finding my information. If someone would look at my face book page I would not be worried.
Yes, I know that people check facebook before hiring and I’m okay with that. It’s a way to see if this person is a trouble maker or what things they do for fun.
Yes, there are ways to protect yourself, you can keep things blocked and not give personal information on the internet.
I could not find any information about my dad, I only could find his facebook page.

  3. I dont think its a horrible idea. One way to know who your hiring is to look at there profile. All you have to do is if you put something up and later regret it delete it and just be careful about what you say after that its not that a big deal.

  6. When someone searches my name i dont care because i dont think they would find anything bad. I also dont mind if they look at my facebook because i dont post as much as others do. When i looked up for my parents i couldnt find anything that was about them.

  7. Part one; I think that having to many accounts is not the best idea because its easier for people to get your information, also its its harder to keep track of what you have. Also its weird that you can be tracked before you are even born.
part two; I googled my mom. For my mom it came up her old schools and her father and mother. Also it came up her facebook account and some of her friends.

  8. Even if people think it's good that they can share their childrens information on the internet so all their friends can see it's really not a good idea to have open accsess to your information. I googled my mom and all that came up was her facebook. Nothing on my dad.

  9. Part One:

I haven't given much thought to my digital foot print, as I see little importance in such things. It dosn't matter much to me that employers will google our names. Afterall, they want to know their employees. Sure there are ways to protect myself. But that seems paranoid, as I don't see a point in it. You don't have to mention everything about your life though. Just use common sense.

  10. I have not given much thought to all the tracks that I leave and how they will impact my life. I did know that employers check social sites before they hire you but I had no idea how many did. I think that employers should be allowed to do this because if I was hiring someone I would want to know anything and everything I could about the person I’m hiring. The way to protect yourself is just don’t put everything on line and keep most of your stuff personal.

  11. Are there ways you can limit or protect yourself without becoming a hermit?

I haven't given all that much thought to the tracks I'm leaving, but I don't search anything bad or anything so it's not making a bad impact on my life.
Yes, I knew that a lot of employers check facebooks before hiring.
I think it's kinda intruding on their privacy, but you shouldn't have stuff you don't want your employers to know.

Yes, there are ways to limit or protect yourself without becoming a hermit, like changing your facebook to friends-only private

  12. I never knew that employers actually check site like facebook that much before they even hire them. And I do think it's a little unfair jugding someone about their beliefs, friends, interest, or personal life and activities.

  13. I think that info about a person going online before they are born is true. probably medical info, ultrasounds, etc. I found a some info on my dad. i think it is both a good and bad idea. Good because buissnesses can use that for hiring, but also peopl could get enough info to stalk you or something. And the risk of identity theft.

  14. Part Two:

Here is what I found that is accurate about my mom:

    1. She speaks spanish.
    2. She has a fridge.
    3. Her phone number is (734) 856 3824.
    4. She lives in Temperance, MI 48182.
    5. She is married to James Pilrose.

Here is what I found that is accurate about my dad:

    1. He lives in Michigan.
    2. He is married to Elba Pilrose.

I found nothing suprising, other than it was a lot harder to find info on my mom and dad than I thought. The advantages are that you can find out someone's interests, phone number, and interesting things about people. The bad news is that people could possibly find out about people's private information. Plus creepy people could stalk you using your info.

  15. I dont thinkk it's a bad idea to search people on facebook before you hire them. You are actually finding how they talk, act, and what they do. I don't thik its a good idea though that you can seach on google and find almost everything about the person. I would be afraid someone could like find and stalk me.

  16. Part two:
They have all of my dads current living information correct but they dont have 6 of his kids listed, and one of them they do its spelled Junter instead of Hunter. Also his age is two yrs off and his ex wife and her cousin are still listed as relatives. nothing of it really suprises me my dad has always been very open with his past.
I do not like having such information available because i dont know what type of people look us up and it shows our names addresses phone numbers etc.
